Joliet’s Lone Star Steakhouse Closed

The Lone Star Steakhouse restaurant near the Lewis Joliet Mall has officially closed. The long-standing steakhouse on Plainfield Road in Joliet ceased operation as of July 31.

Upon arrival, one might be forgiven for thinking the deserted restaurant is still open due to its outward appearance. The restaurant looks well kept up and even still has its outside lights on at night. As of September 4, at 8:00 p.m. the fluorescent Lone Star sign still glows in the nighttime air. However, the dark interior and the sign posted to the front door tell the truth of the situation. The steakhouse has now been closed for a little over a month.

The note on the door tells former staff members and guests of Lone Star to contact the law offices of John Henry, private counsel, in Round Rock, Texas. There, they can talk with attorneys Brianna Corpus or Kristy Stryker about any questions or inquiries they may have in regards to the closing of the restaurant. The note also directs law enforcement to Joe Henry’s law firm in the event of a break-in or fire.

The Herald News contacted the Joe Henry law firm and confirmed that “the closure is due to Lone Star being in the process of bankruptcy.” Still according to the Herald News, other Lone Star restaurants in the area will remain open. This includes the Lone Star “in Crestwood, where the manager confirmed they are still doing business.”
