The Joliet Slammers have announced that they will be hosting the 2017 Frontier League All-Star Game. The contest will be coming to Silver Cross Field on July 12, 2017. The Joliet Slammers earned the title Frontier League East Division Champions just a few days prior to the announcement.

The Frontier League is a professional organization located in the Midwest and is based in Sauget, IL. It is not affiliated with any major or minor league baseball teams as it is an independent organization. It is considered the official “winter league” of the Midwest. The East division is made up of six teams: the Slammers (located in IL), the Lake Erie Crushers (located in OH), the Schaumburg Boomers (located in IL), the Traverse City Beach Bums (located in MI), the Washington Wild Things (located in PA) and the Windy City Thunderbolts (located in IL).

The festivities will begin that Monday, July 10, where a welcome ceremony will be held for Frontier League All-Stars and staff. The Bill Lee Golf Outing will be held the following day (staff and players only) along with the Home Run Derby that take place later that evening. The Home Run Derby will be open to the public.

On the day of the contest, there will be a luncheon that takes place before the All-Star Game. During this luncheon the Frontier League Hall of Fame inductees will be announced. The game will take place at 7:00 p.m. Players, staff and the public are welcome to attend the luncheon. More information about the event will become available as the event draws near.

Tickets for the event and prices will be announced at a later date. Please visit www.jolietslammers.com for more information.
