Another Bears' Player Out For the Season

Back in August of this year, the Chicago Bears lost their reserve quarterback, Kevin Shaw, due to a compound fracture to his leg. The Chicago Bears cannot seem to gain much good luck as their receiver, Kevin White, had his season cut short this year as well.

The Bears general manager, Ryan Pace, confirmed on Wednesday that White has been placed on injured reserve due to a fractured fibula which resulted from a severe left ankle sprain. Pace also confirmed that surgery is a possibility, but not set in stone. They are seeking a second opinion to see if it is necessary to fix White’s injury.

In Sunday’s game against the Lions, White was injured on a five-yard reception in the third quarter. A trainer was immediately called to attend to his injury.

White could be eligible to make a return late in the season if he heals properly, but the Bears are not committing to a timeline for his return. The receiver hasn’t had much luck in the past as he was also out his entire 2015 season due to an injury.

Due to new rules in the NFL, only one player can be eligible for a return. This could mean that either White or 2014 first-round pick, Kyle Fuller, could be booted for the season.

With White cheering from the sidelines this time, the Chicago Bears will play against the Indianapolis Colt’s Sunday, October 9 at 12:00 p.m.
