Joliet Gallery Seven Hosting Jon W. Balke Photo Exhibit

Gallery Seven in Joliet recently announced their exhibit that presents the work of photographer Jon W. Balke.

Balke is an active member in the San Francisco Camerawork Society, Center for Photographic Arts, Camel, California, Light Work Foundation, the Photographic Society of America and the Aperture Foundation. He is the president of the Chicago Society of Artists, Inc.

His featured works in the exhibit are titled “Shades of Gray.” According to the Herald News, the exhibit is titled “Shades of Gray” because the gray tone is often disregarded in black and white photography.

Balke will have his work on display now until Oct. 28. A special reception for the photographer will be Oct. 15, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The reception is open to the public and is free to attend.

Gallery Seven is located at 116 N. Chicago Street, Suite 102 in downtown Joliet. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is also open the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can also make an appointment to visit by calling 815-483-4310.
