Gubernatorial Wagering

This week as the Cleveland “BelieveLand” Indians take on the Chicago Cubs (AKA the World’s most consistent losers”) in the World Series [the championship series of the MLB] the governors of each state placed a friendly bet on the outcome. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner started the betting on Twitter stating that he was willing to bet a Chicago-style deep dish pizza and microbrew that the Cubs would win. It didn’t take long for Governor John Kasich of Ohio to take him up on the bet. Governor John Kasich said he would take Rauner’s bet and that he himself would be offering up ballpark beer and ballpark mustard from the Jake (Progressive Field, where the Indians play their home games). The Governors were not the only ones to bet on the series as both democrat and republican lawmakers from both states bet beer from their respective home state that their team would win.
