Pee Wee Football Game Gets Overly Physical At Joliet Catholic Academy

An argument between pee wee football parents escalated Sunday afternoon at Joliet Catholic Academy. As a result a 14-year-old may be receiving a charge of battery.

During the pee wee game the opposing side sent people to the home team side in order to annoy the players. A 38-year-old woman started arguing with another woman from the opposing side and the argument became heated. During the argument the 14-year-old nephew of the woman from the opposing side began aggressively approaching the 38-year-old woman.

The 26-year-old boyfriend of the 38-year-old woman stepped between her and the 14-year-old because he felt the teenager would assault her. The 14-year-old began to throw punches and the 26-year-old held him down until police arrived around 1:47p.m.

The teen was arrested on juvenile contact forma and released to his relative. The Juvenile Division of the Will County State's Attorney's Office will be reviewing the charges. Joliet Catholic Academy Director of Technology Brian Jones said, "The school has no affiliation with either team and the practice field was rented out to the Joliet Ravens."
