Help for Haiti

After the devastation of 2010 Haiti Earthquake and Hurricane Matthew, many Haiti children are left without parents. Some of these orphans are currently at the Faith in Action Orphanage in Haiti.

One year ago a Joliet resident and church member, Mike Tackebury, decided to help these children in need and started up a garage sale to raise money for the orphanage. The garage sale that began a year ago has evolved into the Haiti Orphan Craft Fair that was held at Judson Memorial Baptist Church earlier this month and is organized by Debbie Filotto, another member of the Joliet church.

At the fair, vendors sold items like clothes, dolls and cleaning products and the proceeds go towards helping 24 Haiti orphans that live in the orphanage. 100% of all money made goes to the orphans in Haiti including the rent vendors pay to sell their goods.
