40th Annual “Festival of the Gnomes”

The “Festival of the Gnomes” is celebrating its 40th anniversary at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Theatre. This yearly tradition brings gnome folklore to life and is fun for all ages.

A 90-minute indoor show explores the mythology of gnomes and follows the adventures of several, beloved gnome characters such as Snotgurgle, a young gnome with a “fun attitude” and a “touch of rebel to his troll.”

After the show, guests will be invited on the stage to meet the gnome crew. Guests can also purchase their own gnome cap for $3.00. Every year you return to the “Festival of the Gnomes” you will receive a free tassel that will be sewn on by the lady gnomes in the lobby. You can also purchase pins, some as little as $0.25, for your cap.

The “Festival of the Gnomes” will take place at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Theatre, 201 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet, Saturday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Another show will take place on Sunday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 a person and can be purchased at the park office. You can reserve tickets by calling the park office at 815-724-3761, or by e-mail. Tickets can be picked up at the park office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
