Illinois's bottomless pit
James Thorpe
‘Cards Against Humanity’ the popular board game which is known as the “party game for horrible people” according to the company that produces it have continued their annual “Black Friday” gag by digging a hole. This hole is not being digged for any reason just for the purpose of “seeing how much money people are willing to spend on absolutely nothing. This hole is being dug in the small town of Oregon, Illinois and has attracted $100,000 in donations for digging this utterly pointless hole. This hole is fitting because it is a metaphor for the how the Illinois government chooses to spend it’s money in a rather pointless way. A quote from the Illinois Policy website “Charging more for the exact same thing? Selling “Bullshit”? People paying for nothing in return? Sounds a lot like Illinois government.” Just like the giant hole in the Illinois Pension system that just keeps to getting deeper and deeper so does this hole.
