3 Illinois Laws You Should Know About

Knowing the law can help somebody to stay out of trouble. It can also help inform people about possible changes to government agencies, insurance changes and driving changes. Here are three new Illinois laws that we believe all Illinois citizens should know about:

1. Autism and Co-Occuring Medical Conditions Awareness Act

This is a new law that changes the way insurance companies cover people on the autism spectrum and with different medical conditions that can be related to autism. According to globalpossibilites.org the law creates change by the following ways: "Providers may consider, without limitation, whether specified substances may exacerbate an ASD or co-occurring condition and adopt appropriate measures to reduce such risks. Any person with ASD or their parent who believes they have received inadequate care because of a co-occurring condition may report such treatment to the state licensing authorities.A parent shall not be threatened with loss of parental rights for a person with ASD for pursuing additional medical expertise.Prohibits insurance companies from denying coverage following the refusal of treatment when the individual’s health care provider determines that such treatment is medically contraindicated.

2. Fake 9-1-1 calls

If a person is to call 911 without adequate grounds to do so and they knowingly give false information which results in the dispatch of emergency response services then the caller is able to be fined up to the total of $10,000.

3. Bobcat Hunting Season

The last time you were able to hunt bobacat's in the state of Illinois the Watergate scandal was occuring. It was in 2000 that the bobcat was removed from the Illinois Threatened Species Act. The good news for conservation efforts and hunters continues as this year was the first Illinois bobcat season started since 197 and it started on November 1 and will continue until February 15.
