Fall Already!? The Season of Football is Here!
As Fall is just on the horizon and students attending class, winter is certainly around the corner once the football season starts. While of course everyone in sports wants to feel the taste of beautiful victory, the taste of defeat is not a only a well lesson learned but a chance to prove other teams how to put up a great fight in the end with dedication and practice. It is quite obvious that no one should ever judge a first game and assume that the season for that specific team go well or negative based on the first game results.
It was a good start debut for Jake Jaworski as football head coach for Joliet Catholic Academy, with his team scoring with an early lead of 34-27 win at the Geneva meet. After even just winning already once last season, victory means keeping up a keen eye and not letting your guard down to the Hilltoppers. The Hilltoppers are scheduled to meet at Memorial Stadium beginning Friday for their next four games. Wheaton North will be their next opponent to face off on Friday, who captured in week 1 a comfortable 19-14 win against their southern counterpart rival Wheaton Warrenville South. But these weren’t the only teams that made it to this week’s top matches. Plainfield Central gave a hotly contested battle to Plainfield North with a formidable final score of 21-7 victory. This week’s highlight however, will be the South West Prairie Conference scheduled to clash with the six-time defending champion Oswego against the Tigers in the new turf field at North debut. As heated as these teams got with their scores, it is expected to be fiery must-see matches between the six schools in their respective league both wanting to claim precious victory. Who will prevail in the end? Stay tuned for next week’s coverage and update.
