Illinois Rock Band Coming back to Joliet
Rock and Roll band REO Speedwagon will be returning to Joliet in January of 2018. Just last week, Rialto Square Theater officials announced that the band will be returning to Joliet for the third time in the last 5 years. Previously, the band headlined the Taste of Joliet in 2012 and 2013. In 2012, their set was cut short due to storms, and ironically when the storm began, they were playing their hit song “Riding the Storm Out”. In 2013, the band agreed to come back and give the people of Joliet the full show they paid to see one year prior.
REO Speedwagon is a rock and roll band hailing from Central Illinois. The band was formed by two student who were juniors in college at the University of Illinois. The band has sold over 40 million records and had two songs reach number one on the Top 40 charts. The band currently tours with Styx and have toured with bands such as .38 Special.
This will be one of the biggest concerts under the new management of the Rialto Square Theater. In 2016, Iowa based company VenuWorks took over the operations of the Rialto Square Theater in hope to put the National Landmark back on the map as one of the best places to have a concert. Over the years, the Rialto has had numerous well known musicians play for the people of Joliet. Elvis Presley, Wayne Newton, The Beach Boys, Styx and so many more.
REO Speedwagon will be live on stage at 8:00 pm on January 13. To purchase tickets, visit www.RialtoSquare.com. To learn more about REO Speedwagon, visit www.speedwagon.com
