Craft Beer the hot topic in Will Co.
Within the last year, Craft Beer has been the hot topic in Will County. Announced in early June, Will County Brewing Company would be granted their liquor license to be the newest microbrewery in the area. The three owners of Will County Brewing Company decided that Shorewood would be the best location for their business because it is close to all their homes and that there is nothing like this in the Shorewood area. Jamie Albert along with his partners James Kennedy and Eric Wills all started this as a hobby, but when one of their home brews was selected to be sold at a bar, the group of three decided that this could be something unique.
Although Will County Brewing Company has not open their doors yet, the men are hard at work getting their facility ready for the grand opening, which is scheduled for the end of 2017. “We are all very excited for this, brewing beer is something that we all enjoy doing” said co-owner Eric Wills. “Since we announced that we were opening in Shorewood, we have been in contact with the other microbrewery’s that have opened in the last year or so.” Wills also mentioned that he and his partners showed support to Channahon’s River Hawk Brewery, who like Will County Brewing Company started out as a group of friends brewing their own beer at each other’s houses. “River Hawk is a very nice place, and we were glad to be there when they opened this year. It kind of gave us an idea of what to expect what we open our place up” said Wills.
