Catholic education has a long, prominent history in Joliet and the surrounding communities in Will County.
Joliet Catholic Academy (JCA) is no exception. Led by the Joliet Franciscan Sisters and Carmelites, JCA has been providing faith formation and academic excellence for high school students since 1869. But an excellent, Catholic education comes at a price, in this sense, a literal one. Like any private education, obtaining a genuine, Catholic education has always required a momentous, financial investment; sending a child to a private high school can be difficult for most families to afford.
Joliet Catholic Academy has always been committed to providing financial aid to all families who have children attending. In fact, according to The Herald-News, no student at the school pays 100 percent of the tuition cost. JCA grants students financial aid in several ways; through the JCA endowment, a fund for tuition aid supported by a generous donor base, through merit-based scholarships and through annual fundraisers.
According to JCA, it is their mission to provide an affordable, quality, Catholic education that is accessible to all Will County-area families.
As a result of this continued commitment, the leadership at JCA is launching an additional program, Leveraged Financial Aid, to help make their tuition more affordable. The Leveraged Financial Aid program, will allow JCA to match a prospective student’s tuition rate to their family’s unique financial position.
JCA understands that financial situations are different for all students and tuition should not be a one-size-fits-all deal. Families interested in utilizing the Leveraged Financial Aid program must submit a financial profile to a confidential third-party service online called, FACTS.
FACTS applications for the Class of 2022 will be open from October 1, 2017 until December 31, 2017. Students who are accepted into JCA after the placement exam in early December will be notified in January if they quality for the new Leveraged Financial Aid program.
