Police identify hit-and-run driver who killed mother of two in Bolingbrook

Bolingbrook police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a mother of two last weekend.

The police announced that they have received credible information regarding the alleged driver. They are currently following up that information. As of now, no arrests have been made and no information regarding the driver's identity has been released.

The body of 35-year-old Tricia S. Hoyt was found shortly after noon Sunday in a grassy area on North East Frontage Road near Lawton Lane. A vehicle struck her between 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

Hoyt was out spending time with her friends Saturday evening. When she left for the night, she was walking along the I-55 frontage road when someone hit her and left her for dead.

According to her family and friends, Hoyt was a loving person who centered her life around her two adoring children. Her children are six and eight years old.

As Hoyt’s family mourns her death, investigators are actively and aggressively checking leads and police say more information will be released as it becomes available.
