Break-in at Aurelio’s Pizza

A man wearing a gray hoodie broke into Aurelio’s Pizza on 3101 W. Jefferson St. and stole $150 this past Thursday night. The Joliet Police are still investigating the break-in. No culprit has been arrested as of November 14.

According to the Herald News, the thief was caught on a surveillance camera. The restaurant’s owner, Luke Pascale, told the Joliet Police that “a man wearing a gray hoodie and carrying a hammer and flashlight was seen (…) bashing through the glass doors.” While the thief was able to break into a cash register and take $150, Pascale said that the “restaurant’s alarm scared him off” while he was attempting to open the restaurant’s safe.

Pascale says that the damages to the door and cash register were more expensive than the amount of money stolen by the thief.

Thanks to the security footage, the Joliet Police say they have several leads, however, they have not yet caught the culprit. They posted an image of the thief to their official Facebook page in the hopes that maybe someone will come forward and identify him.
