Local Business up in Flames
Skooters RoadHouse in Shorewood was in the news this week, and this time, it was not for poor behavior from customers. On Monday, November 27, fire broke out inside the restaurant and was engulfed in flames until local fire units could attend. According to their own Facebook account, Skooters stated that, “The fire was small and in our kitchen so our bar area was not affected.”
As stated above, Skooters has been in the local media often in the last few years with violations from the business and also behavior from customers. Just this past January, Skooters had to close their doors for four days due to a violation to their liquor license when they were serving drink specials but did not offer a food special. During the year of 2016, the Shorewood Police Department were sent to bar 75 times for various different complaints.
Although the fire happened on monday, Skooters officials announced Tuesday afternoon that the bar would re-open December 1 for pre-planned activities including a concert that night.
