A Crest Hill man was arrested at Anthony’s Restaurant and Pub after he took his shirt off, yelled profanities at other customers and tried to run away from officers, police said.
According to the Joliet Patch, around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Joliet Police officers rushed to the Anthony's Restaurant and Bar near the Louis Joliet Mall, and that's where police arrested 38-year-old Crest Hill resident Eric Wayne Hamilton. Police reports indicate Hamilton was asked to leave by the Anthony's employees but he was defiant and refused to do so. Joliet Police discovered that Hamilton had cocaine in his possession, and he was in violation of his parole status, reports show.
Botzum said officers who were working a security detail at the bar told Hamilton that he had to leave because of his behavior. Because Hamilton was on parole, officers searched him and found cocaine and a pipe, Botzum said.
Hamilton was released from prison February 6 after serving time for possession of a controlled substance and for driving while his license was revoked.
Hamilton was put into the backseat of a squad car and driven to the Will County Jail. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer and possession of drug equipment, reports show. He was arrested and booked into the Will County jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment and obstructing and resisting a police officer.
