NEW SPORTS BAR SET TO OPEN IN HOMER GLEN THIS SUMMER

As COVID-19 Pandemic ends, Mugshots will become fourth sports bar in Village of Homer Glen

The Village of Homer Glen is excited to announce that a new sports bar franchise will be opening up a location sometime this summer. Mugshots Grill & Bar, a franchise based in the Southeast, already has over twenty locations in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi, and their Homer Glen location will become the first one opened in a “cold weather” city. Mugshots will become the fourth sports bar in Homer Glen, a village with a population of about 25,000 inhabitants. Three other successful sports bars are already located within the business district of Homer Glen, including Davidson’s, Pelican Harry’s, and Front Row.

Steven Wood, the owner of the new Mugshots franchise, is a life-long Homer Glen resident who felt that his community could benefit from a sports bar franchise.

“I know our community already has three sports bars already, but they are all family owned,” Wood says, “Mugshots is part of a growing franchise, which means we will be able to offer better prices and specials, since we have corporate backing.”

One of the unique aspects of Mugshots will be their ability to host live performances and other forms of entertainment. The three other sports bars located in Homer Glen do not have adequate space for bands to play, and when they do, it is often too overcrowded and the sound is terrible. Mugshots has built a specific stage with proper acoustics and lighting so that they could hopefully schedule legitimate musical acts to play on weekends. Also, Mugshots will be the only bar in Homer Glen that sponsors free Karaoke nights for locals, something that is becoming extremely popular in the Chicagoland area.

“The Coronavirus pandemic has put us a little behind schedule [in terms of opening the restaurant] but other than that, we are confident and excited to bring Mugshots to Homer!” Wood says, "Check us out on Facebook for more updates and details."
