Amazon to Add 2,000+ Jobs to Will County

Amazon is adding another fulfillment center in Will County, an 850,00-square-foot facility in Monee. “We’re very excited,” Monee Village Administrator Ruben Bautista said. “It’s going to bring more jobs to our area – not only to the village but also the region.”

At least 2,000 jobs, Bautista said he has been told, but some debate has been raised as Amazon has only stated “hundreds and hundreds” of jobs, not the 2,000 number. The facility is being fast-tracked and should be fully operational by July 2017.

This is the fourth facility in the Will County area is on pace to be the largest of the area and will create the most jobs. It will be near the current Michelin distribution center, but that is currently being phased out for operations in Wilmington.
